Moving Tips

Move all liquids, paints, cleaning fluids, acids, aerosol cans and flammables yourselves or dispose of.

Drain fuel from mowers and/or machinery.

Check your furniture for existing damage prior to your move.

Move jewelry, small pieces of high value and pets yourself.

Know where all documents and paperwork are located.

Put your television/vcr/stereo remote(s) where you can locate them after your move.

If doing your own packing, make sure to fill box to capacity with paper to avoid damage to items that may shift during your move.  Also, seal all boxes with packing tape.

Label boxes properly.  Example: master bedroom, kitchen, living room, den, garage, etc.

Do Not pack your checkbook!

Know how long you have to file a claim with any moving service.
